Outsource SF6 Services with DILO
On-site SF6 Recovery & Testing
On-site gas recovery and testing services allow the end-user to utilize DILO to perform SF6recovery from equipment, testing to confirm CIGRE compliance, and/or preparing cylinders for shipment to off-site reprocessing facilities.
SF6 Equipment Rental
Alternatively, customers may also rent equipment on a weekly basis, and perform the recovery services on their own. For long-term rentals rates are calculated monthly.
Off-site SF6 Restoration
Should the customer find gas which is in exceptionally poor shape (i.e. contaminated with air or excessive decomposition), the gas can be transferred into cylinders – DILO or customer-owned - and can be shipped to DILO for purification. Shipping logistics (proper documentation) and freight processing can all be handled by DILO, avoiding the potential liability of mistakes when transporting hazardous materials.
Any gas that is shipped to DILO will be processed to remove any and all contaminants, including air (N2/O2), moisture, oil, and decomposition (SO2/SOF2). The cylinders are inspected, evacuated, and refilled with the purified gas, which meets or exceeds CIGRE guidelines (see below). Unless otherwise requested, all cylinders are returned to the customer, with certified purity, moisture, and decomposition values.
On-site SF6 Safety Training
For customers requiring technical and safety training, DILO offers complete on-site classes which address all common areas of concern; safety, transportation regulations, general handling techniques, and environmental issues. A student handbook, complete with quiz, is distributed to each student. Class sizes should be limited to no more than 30 people.
Cylinder Disposal
As customers increase their inventory of SF6 filled equipment, often they are left with numerous OEM-supplied empty (or partial) cylinders. DILO offers a program where these excess empty cylinders or cylinders with new gas will be disposed of at no charge. Simply strap the cylinders to pallets and ship them to DILO. If the gas has been in service please contact DILO for recycling or disposal.

SF6 Disposal
For gas which is deemed unusable by customers who prefer not to have the gas returned to them, DILO will dispose of the gas – with documentation that it was disposed of in an environmentally friendly manner.
