SF6 Cylinder Heater HB-120

Description

The HB 120 SF6 Heater Blanket is an electrical appliance which supplies supplemental heat to replace heat of evaporation normally lost when SF6 changes state from liquid to gas inside steel SF6 cylinders. Freezing typically occurs when SF6 changes state from liquid to gas, faster than it can absorb ambient heat.

The HB 120 SF6 Heater Blanket may be applied before or while SF6 vaporizes. The use of a heater increases the speed at which SF6 gas is discharged from cylinders and improves the amount of usable gas derived from each cylinder when no suctioning device is used.

The heating belt is thermostatically controlled to prevent overheating of the cylinder eliminating any potential for decomposition of the SF6 gas inside.

The HB 120 SF6 Heater Blanket design heats up the lower part of the cylinder where freezing usually occurs. For larger, 115 lb. type B cylinders, the use of two heaters is recommended. For safety and convenience, the device is designed with a Velcro® strap. This allows the heating band to be applied over most popular sized cylinders (up to 10" diameters) without the need to lift them. Includes: Thermostatically controlled belt, and 4' power cord with standard 120V AC plug.
